Terms of Service

Last updated: 19 April 2026

These terms govern your use of IFQ (“the app”, “the service”), operated by IFQ (“we”, “us”, “our”). By using IFQ, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use the app.

We’ve kept this as readable as possible. If anything is unclear, email support@ifq.app.

Medical disclaimer

This is important. Please read it carefully.

  • IFQ is not a medical device, medical treatment, or healthcare service. It is a wellness and support tool designed to assist people who want to quit nicotine.
  • IFQ does not provide medical advice. Nothing in the app — including anything Vera says — should be interpreted as medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
  • Vera is an artificial intelligence, not a medical professional. She is not a doctor, nurse, therapist, counsellor, or any other kind of healthcare provider. Vera is an AI coach that provides general support and information.
  • Always consult a qualified healthcare professional for medical decisions related to nicotine cessation, withdrawal symptoms, nicotine replacement therapy, medication, or any health concern.
  • If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call emergency services immediately (000 in Australia, 911 in the US, 999 in the UK, or your local emergency number). Do not use IFQ as a substitute for emergency medical care.
  • IFQ is not a substitute for professional medical treatment, therapy, or counselling. If you are dealing with substance dependence, mental health issues, or other medical conditions, please seek help from qualified professionals.

By using IFQ, you acknowledge that you understand these limitations and accept full responsibility for your health decisions.

AI disclosure

Vera is powered by artificial intelligence. She generates responses based on your input, your history within the app, and general knowledge about nicotine cessation. She is not a real person.

While we work to make Vera helpful, accurate, and supportive, AI can make mistakes. Vera’s responses should not be treated as professional advice. She may occasionally provide information that is incomplete, inaccurate, or not applicable to your specific situation.

Your account

You don’t need an account to start using IFQ. The app creates an anonymous identity for you on first launch so onboarding and core features work straight away. Sign in with Apple is optional, and you can use it later to save your progress across devices. If you do sign in, you’re responsible for keeping your account secure and for all activity that happens under it.

You must be at least 13 years old to use IFQ. The cessation features in the app additionally require you to confirm you are 18 or older during onboarding. If you select an under-18 age bracket, you won’t be able to progress past that step inside the app, and we’ll point you at a national quitline or GP instead.

If you do create or sign into an account, you agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date.

Subscription and billing

IFQ offers a subscription service. Subscriptions are billed through Apple’s App Store and are subject to Apple’s terms and conditions.

  • Subscriptions auto-renew unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
  • You can manage and cancel your subscription through your Apple ID account settings.
  • Free trial periods, if offered, automatically convert to paid subscriptions unless cancelled before the trial ends.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with their refund policies.

Acceptable use

Use IFQ for its intended purpose. Don’t:

  • Attempt to manipulate, exploit, or abuse the AI system
  • Use the service to generate harmful, illegal, or abusive content
  • Attempt to access other users’ accounts or data
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to extract the source code of the app
  • Use automated tools to scrape or access the service
  • Impersonate another person or entity
  • Use IFQ in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations

Intellectual property

IFQ, including its design, code, content, and the Vera character, is owned by IFQ. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the service without our written permission.

Your content (conversations, profile information, progress data) remains yours. By using the service, you grant us a licence to store and process your content as necessary to provide and improve the service, as described in our Privacy Policy.

Limitation of liability

IFQ is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law:

  • We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service.
  • Our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
  • We are not responsible for any health outcomes, whether positive or negative, that may result from using the service.
  • We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any consumer guarantee under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded or limited.

Termination

You can stop using IFQ at any time by cancelling your subscription and deleting your account.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms or if we reasonably believe your use of the service poses a risk to us, other users, or third parties. We’ll try to give you notice where practical, but we’re not obligated to.

Upon termination, your right to use the service ends. You can request deletion of your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Australia. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of IFQ will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Australia.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we’ll notify you through the app or by email. Continued use of IFQ after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
